HESTIA - WMS

HESTIA WMS

Bring structure to your goods flows right from the start and speed up picking and other warehouse processes by efficiently and easily guiding your warehouse staff at the hand-held scanner.

HESTIA offers the possibility to manage parts at the warehouse. It has a parts master, a warehouse master, goods receipts, goods withdrawals, goods transfers and inventories. The individual stock quantities can be viewed through a stock list and via the parts master. HESTIA also has warehouse statistics with monthly closing for warehouse evaluation.

The mobile terminal of HESTIA WMS

The mobile terminal (MDE) is the most important device for working with HESTIA WMS in the warehouse. The mobile terminal of HESTIA WMS enables the display and input of data without being tied to a fixed workstation. Thus, data for goods receipts or processing of picking lists can be recorded in real time and on site directly at the goods in the HESTIA WMS.

Stocks, order processing, etc. are continuously updated in real time in the host system and are available as information to the host users in real time.

For the storage of goods to the storage bins, the employee is guided by HESTIA WMS. With a few entries or by scanning barcodes, the material flow is controlled by the system and the stocks are booked to storage locations or "intermediate storage locations such as hand trucks, etc.".

For the processing of picking lists, the user is continuously provided with the information he needs to pick the right material at the right place and ultimately to provide the customer order correctly.

Incorrect entries are immediately displayed with an error message, which is acknowledged by the employee to repeat the action.

  1. Guided activities

The dialogue with the warehouse staff at the scanner is based on ClassiX's own implementation of workflows. The warehouse worker is guided step by step (hence the name STEPS), i.e. input by input, through the work to be done. The entries are immediately checked by HESTIA. Errors are thus immediately recognised and processed.

A sequence of related inputs is called a managed activity. Each guided activity can call up other guided activities or can be called up by other guided activities (circular references are not supported). In this way, simple procedures are combined to form complex processes.

  2. Shortcuts

HESTIA supports shortcuts in such a way that by pressing an F key (from F2 to F12) at any point another guided activity can be called up directly. For example, in the middle of picking, a stock of an item can be called up. As soon as the called up guided activity is completed, the warehouse worker is back at the place where he executed the shortcut.

Shortcuts can also be cascaded, i.e. within the execution of a shortcut further shortcuts can be executed.

Circular references are also not supported for shortcuts. If, for example, you are already in the stock query, a shortcut that was also defined for the stock query cannot be executed.

  3. Screen layout

The screen layout on the mobile terminal is structured as follows:
    Hestia Processes En

The Menu area is used exclusively to display information under the main functions available under this menu item; it is a pure display area.
The submenus show the functions that are to be executed by clicking on them.
The lower area of the screen is reserved for the operating functions of the screens.
The arrow keys are used to scroll forwards and backwards through the submenus.

    Special keys
The "ESC" key is used to cancel or exit a function. It is highlighted in red. If a button has a green background, it can be accessed directly with the "Enter" button.
